About LiFE

Established in 2014, LiFE Multi Academy Trust encompasses primary and secondary academies, as well as nurseries, across Leicestershire. Our goal is to provide high-quality, personalised, and well-rounded education for all students within our communities. Each school within our trust is integral to its local community, promoting inclusion, diversity, personal responsibility, and respect.

As a Trust, we prioritise investing in our staff and take pride in nurturing ‘home grown talent,’ which helps our team positively impact young people’s lives. Our goal is to hire individuals who align with our ethos, enabling collaboration across the Trust and ensuring professional development. We offer outstanding training pathways, drawing on internal and external excellence to build professional capital.

Examples of external opportunities include NPQSL, NPQH, NPQML, OTP, and ITT. Pathways are available from apprenticeship to senior leadership levels, with some courses led by Trust staff and others externally accredited. Additionally, middle leaders can gain leadership experience as associate SLT members. Support staff benefit from personalised improvement plans, coaching, and training to take charge of their professional growth.

”We believe in getting the right people, getting them to work together and getting them to stay."

The Real LiFE Curriculum empowers students by fostering Student Agency through personalised learning, coaching and real-world interdisciplinary missions, giving them the knowledge, skills and values needed to shape their world. At LiFE MAT, we blend expert subject teaching with personalised learning to create this unique curriculum, available at selected LiFE MAT schools for both Primary and Secondary students.

Early Career Teachers - “Becoming the craft”

At LiFE Multi Academy Trust, we believe that teaching is both a vocation and a profession where if you are provided with the environment and support you will have a career for LiFE.

Our two year ECT programme is designed to ensure you have the space to “become the craft” where you will thrive as a practitioner. You will have the opportunity to engage in ongoing research, reflective practice, and action research, which are all essential components of professional development at LiFE.

Our Teach For LiFE team work with integrity to deliver the Early Career Framework through Ambition Institute whose mission is to help educators serving children from disadvantaged backgrounds to keep getting better. We collaborate with Leicestershire and Rutland Teaching Hub as our Appropriate Body.

The team also facilitates training for mentors to provide an authentic and connected approach developing knowledge, skills and character. You will be supported by highly skilled mentors who will guide you through every step of your journey. We also offer regular coaching sessions to address any challenges and empower you to overcome barriers to success. As part of our commitment to your growth, we provide opportunities for whole-school development and leadership, helping you prepare for a fulfilling and impactful career in teaching.

Our bespoke provision, which goes beyond the core content framework, is innovative and empowers you to take agency within the MAT, offering an experience that is both connected to your peers and rooted in real-world teaching contexts. With a strong emphasis on collaboration we aim to inspire you to ensure that you thrive as an independent and resilient educator.
